The River Great Ouse meanders across the Cambridgeshire fens, often higher than the surrounding fields. A favourite walk with Lola and the camera has resulted in a variety of photos under all kinds of conditions.
Last weekend the coldest night of the year was enough to cover the river with a thin layer of ice. Meanwhile 30 minutes after sunrise the only evidence of sun and warmth was a slight orange glow through the mist. Taken at Queenholme, Cambridgeshire, at 08:15 on 20 January 2019 with Canon 5Diii and 100-400mm at 263 mm. Exposure was 1/15 sec at f/11; ISO 100
