November full moon
Short story - Lola and I managed to photograph the November full moon as it was setting. Long story - we were making the morning tea and looking out through the kitchen window I saw the full moon above the trees at the bottom of the street. Thinking full moon on the first of December must mean there are two full moons in the month, so the second will be a blue moon (as in once in a blue moon). So some photos of each full moon. would be good. So we dashed out in the car up to Flat Bridge as I could imagine the moon behind an old twisted tree. However even before we got there I could see that the moon was sinking into the haze above the horizon. As soon as the tree and moon lined up we stopped and grabbed some shots but the moon was virtually invisible. After getting home I realized that the full moon was actually the last day of November so there wouldn't be a blue moon in December! Research on the web also pointed out the astronomical (correct) definition of a blue moon is the third of four full moons in a season. Anyway this morning we managed to pull a little contrast and dehazing out of the raw file using Lightroom and here for the record is the result. Taken on 1 December 2020 at 08:18 on Flat Road outside Willingham, Cambridgeshire. Canon 7Dii and 100-400mm at 164 mm. Exposure 1/320 sec at f/5.6: ISO 100
